Madeira

Below is all the Madeira we have available.

Blandy's 5-Year-Old Bual Madeira: TASTING NOTE: Bual is a sweeter style of Madeira. This has a terrific, complex nose of coffee, raisins, dried wood and walnuts. It's medium-full bodied with fiery core built on well balanced acidity, tannin and 19% alcohol. It dries to a nutty and dried orange finish that echoes to outstanding length. Very impressive. Will age a very long time in bottle. Score: 92 (David Lawrason, winealign.com, Nov. 2010)

Cossart Gordon Colheita Bual 1997: TASTING NOTE: Deep amber with orange tint. Nose packed with toffee, nuts andvanilla. Some caramel, chocolate and coffee notes. Smooth and full in the mouth with lively texture and great balance. A whole array of flavours are released in the mouth that follow what the nose promised with extra complexity from rich fruit cake. Mellow and satisfying yet still has good acidic grip. Score: Silver Medal (Best in Class) (International Wine & Spirits Competition 2008)

Justino 10-Years-Old Malvasia Madeira: TASTING NOTE: Aromas of caramel, molasses, marmalade, buckwheat, dried apricots and honey rise from the glass. The palate is sweet and nicely balanced with wonderful echoes of the nose with distinct traces of toffee and walnuts with a long, sweet and spicy finish. Perfect for around the nut bowl. (VINTAGES panel, June 2011)

Justino's 10 Years Old Boal Madeira: Mid-deep red tinged mahogany; lovely tawny marmalade character, open and expressive; rich, slightly singed spicy fruit, good depth with an incisive marmalade tang and bitter-sweet length. Vinhos Barbeito 5-Year-Old Boal Madeira: Bright, clear and perfect amber colour. The nose is still quite grapey and laced with vanilla, almonds, spices and citrussy aromas. It is medium bodied, light textured, smooth and has a fairly sweet entry with a light and delicate finish, long lasting. A wine of great charm and delicacy. Score - Silver Medal (Best in Class). (International Wine & Spirit Competition, 2009)
