Sangiovese

Below is all the Sangiovese we have available.

Altesino Brunello Di Montalcino 2007: The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino is beautiful in this vintage. Layers of dark red cherries, flowers, licorice and tobacco caress the palate in this generous, expressive Brunello. The 2007 presents an intriguing combination of classic Sangiovese aromas and flavors with the generosity and radiance of the vintage. The 2007 Brunello was made from vineyards in several sub-zones in Montalcino and was aged in cask. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2022. Score - 92. (Antonio Galloni, erobertparker.com, April 2012)

Altesino Riserva Brunello Di Montalcino 2004: This stunning wine boasts loads of character that peels off as aromatic layers of cherry, cassis, soapy wild flowers, violets, earth, cola and church incense. There's a sweet spice element of cinnamon and nutmeg and all the flavors last long on the finish. It's tempered, elegant and smooth overall. Score - 96. (Monica Larner, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 2010)

Amantis Sangiovese Montecucco 2006: The 2006 Montecucco Sangiovese explodes from the glass with a multitude of dark cherries, sweet herbs and spices. This is a rich, powerful wine loaded with personality and character. In fact, it may very well be the most ambitious wine being made in the Montecucco appellation today. Additional bottle age should allow the full range of aromas and flavors to emerge; even if the wine is pretty delicious at this stage. The estate's Montecucco Sangiovese is 90% Sangiovese with a small percentage of Colorino and Canaiolo. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2016. Score - 90. (Antonio Galloni, erobertparker.com, Aug. 2009)

Antinori Badia A Passignano Chianti Classico Riserva 2007: The 2007 Badia a Passignano Chianti Classico Riserva (Sangiovese) comes across as quite plush and deep. It shows lovely mid-palate pliancy in its floral red fruit along with soft, silky tannins that frame the finish. Tar, licorice and smoke are nicely layered into the finish. The Badia a Passignano is 100% Sangiovese. This vineyard ripened on the late side in 2007, giving the wine much of its textural finesse. With air, the wine is absolutely singing today. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2017. Score - 91. (Antonio Galloni, erobertparker.com, Aug. 2011)

Antinori Pppoli Chianti Classico 2010: Bright red-ruby. Redcurrant, dusty herbs and flowers on the nose, complemented by sweet spices. Supple and vinous, showing easy sweetness and plenty of bright fruit. Seems more concentrated, precise and deep than any recent Peppoli vintage I can think of. Finishes with good grip and moderately long sweet fruit flavors. Makes a great pizza wine, but can also match up to more complex dishes as well this vintage. Very good, solid entry-level wine, and an even better value than usual. Score - 89. (Ian D'Agata, International Wine Cellar, Sept. 2012)

Antinori Pian Delle Vigne Brunello Di Montalcino 2007: A juicy almost jammy Brunello, with blueberry and cherry character. Full and velvety, with lots of fruit and a delicious finish. All in fruit and generosity. Better in 2014. Score - 92. (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Jan. 25, 2012)

Antinori Toscana Igt: Bright medium ruby colour; dry and medium-bodied with dried cherry and spicy notes and a hint of tea; well- balanced with a medium finish.

Banfi Brunello Di Montalcino 2007: The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino bursts from the glass with a textured fabric of dark red berries, licorice, spices, tobacco and leather. Layers of fruit continue to build as the wine blossoms in every direction. Flowers, spices and leather reappear on the silky finish. The Brunello was aged in casks and smaller French oak barrels. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2022. Score - 91. (Antonio Galloni, erobertparker.com, April 2012)

Banfi Rosso Di Montalcino 2010: The 2010 Rosso di Montalcino flows across the palate with layers of lush, expressive fruit. The wine's minerality comes through on the mid-palate and finish. I very much like the combination of rich fruit and freshness in this lush, textured Rosso. Banfi aged the Rosso in a combination of French oak barrels and casks. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. Score - 90. (Antonio Galloni, erobertparker.com, April 2012)
