Anakena Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2010: A very expressive, New World-style Pinot with aromas of boysenberry jam, black cherry, spicy clove and sweet mocha. It's dry, mid-weight and smoothly textured with ripe plush fruit balanced by supple tannins and juicy acidity, all leading to a flavourful finish. It has immediate charm with its overt fruitiness but also possesses Pinot Noir's trademark elegance. Enjoy over the next 2 years. (VINTAGES panel, April 2012) Tags: Pinot Noir, Red Wine, Wine |

Andrea Oberto Vigneto Rocche Barolo 2007: The 2007 Barolo Rocche is a striking wine. Layers of perfumed, silky red fruit wafts from the glass in this round, totally inviting Barolo. Spice and rose petal notes develop over time. This is simply dazzling. The integration of French oak, once a bit of an Achilles heel, is masterful. I love the balance and intensity here. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. Score - 94. (Antonio Galloni, erobertparker.com, Oct. 2011) Tags: Barbaresio), Nebbiolo, Nebbiolo (Barolo, Red Wine, Wine |
