Red Wine

Below is all the Red Wine we have available.

Vineland Elevation Cabernet 2009: ... A blend of 94% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is another stunning version of an Ontario Franc from one of the wineries that does it justice. Aged 18 months in all French oak with a fair amount of new, this wine displays aromas of tobacco and cherry on the nose, which to most would seem simplistic, but the palate more than doubles your pleasure factor. Cherry, sour raspberry, cigar box/tobacco and some elegant spice hold down the fort with a nice acid bite on the finish to balance everything out nicely ... Score - 4 1/2 Stars (out of 5). Vineland Estates Cabernet/Merlot 2011: Vineland's value Cabernet-Merlot is one of the great bargains of Ontario wine year-in and year-out. 2011 is gonna be one of those forgotten years because it comes between two great years 2010 and 2012, but this '11 should be given it's props. Black cherry, cedar-vanilla and raspberry are all smells you'll pick out; while red fruit, hints of cedar and oaked-raspberry will be the flavours - all ending with a touch of vanilla on the finish. Score - 4+ Stars (out of 5). (Michael Pinkus, ontariowinereview.com, Oct. 17, 2012)

Vineland Pinot Meunier 2009: Pinot Meunier is rarely made as a stand-alone varietal. This example shows that it should be done more often. Try with stuffed veal tenderloin.

Vineland Reserve Cabernet/Merlot 2007: From the classic 2007 vintage comes Vineland Estate's mission-statement wine. Filled with aromas of cassis, black cherry, woodsmoke, vanilla bean and mocha, this wine ticks all the boxes and then some. Dry with layers and layers of fruit supported by superlative tannins and fine acids. Full bodied with a long finish. This complex wine is sure to please tonight with grilled lamb, or cellar it for 5+ years.

Vineyard Seven & Eight 7 Cabernet Sauvignon 2007: Lots of chocolate, oak and blackberry-infused flavor in this dry, tannic young wine. It sure is tight, almost rude in its immaturity, with an astringency that makes the palate pucker. But it's so deep and dense, so packed with intensity, you just know it will come around in the cellar. Special Designation: Cellar Selection. Drink: 2013-2019. Score - 93. Vineyard Twenty-Nine Cru Cabernet Sauvignon 2008: Billed by winery owners Chuck and Anne McMinnas as an introduction to Vineyard Twenty-Nine's style, the fruit for this wine comes from both hillside and valley floor vineyards. The aromas displayed include pure cassis, ripe black cherry, woodsmoke, violets and crushed stones. Dry, juicy and full bodied with a smooth texture and rich black fruit flavours supported by ripe tannins, all leading to a lengthy mouth-coating finish. It's quite an intro. Try it with braised beef ribs. (VINTAGES panel, Jan. 2012)

Viniterra Select Malbec 2005: Jay Miller gave this Malbec a score of 90, but did not provide an accompanying tasting note. (www.erobertparker.com, Nov. 2008) Look for aromas of cedar, spice box, leather and black cherry, and expect lots of personality on the palate from this beautifully sculpted Malbec.
