Casali Borgo Del Boiardo Reggiano Lambrusco Rosato Secco 2011: 50% Lambrusco Salamino, 35% Lambrusco Maran, 15% Lambrusco Sorbara. Bright and deep coral colour with supple mousse. Delicious nose with notes of sour cherry preserve, wisteria and marzipan. Nicely mouth-filling and lively on the palate, with notes of juicy fruit on the finish. Food match: cappelletti in capon broth. Score - 5 (out of 5). (Association of Italian Sommeliers Guide, 2012/2013) Tags: Rosé, Sparkling - Dry, Sparkling Wine, Varietal - Other, Wine |

Castillo Perelada Brut Rosado Cava: Rosado Cava is somewhat of a rarity, relying on red grapes with much lower yields than white, and certainly worth experiencing. This deep pink-coloured version delivers notes of redcurrant, lees, cranberry, apple and toast. The palate is dry, fresh and invigorating with a very good mousse, and great fruit with plum and lots of ripe berry notes shining through. The finish is long and fruity. An ideal, and colourful, way to kick off a late-summer barbecue. (VINTAGES panel, Nov. 2010) Tags: Blend - Other, Rosé, Sparkling - Dry, Sparkling Wine, Wine |

Codorn?u Pinot Noir Brut Ros? Cava: A rosé made from pinot noir. The nose is appealingly fragrant, full of ripe red berry fruit, cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry. The palate is essentially dry and brisk, with plenty of flavour intensity and a lengthy, fruity finish. Nice example. Score - 88. Dom P?rignon David Lynch Limited Edition Brut Ros? Champagne 2000: The 2000 Dom Perignon Rose is a flashy, ripe Champagne that screams Pinot to a degree I have never encountered in another vintage of this wine. A dark, intense color leads to a Chambolle-like nose followed by endless red berries, flowers and spices, all backed up with plenty of muscle, richness and density. The wine continues to blossom on the palate, with utterly beguiling detail, clarity and polish, all qualities that resonate on the rich, expansive finish. The 2000 Dom Perignon Rose is 45% Chardonnay and 55% Pinot Noir, of which 25% is still Pinot. Geoffroy says his goal was to make a statement with the 2000 Dom Perignon Rose; he has done that?and so much more. In fact, the 2000 seems to signal a stylistic shift towards a more important, serious style of rose. This superb wine is not to be missed, but readers should note this is no easygoing rose, rather it is a Champagne that demands serious attention. The 2000 will test the limits of what readers expect from a Dom Perignon Rose, but the wine is simply marvelous. I loved it. This bottle was disgorged in 2008. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2025. Score - 96. (Antonio Galloni, erobertparker.com, Dec. 2010) Tags: Champagne, Rosé, Sparkling Wine, Wine |
