Tasting Note: Situated in an area not far from Ribera del Duero, Aldeasona shares the same owners and winemaker as Covento San Francisco. The 2004 Aldeasona is 100% Tinta del Pais sourced from a vineyard planted in 1912. The wine was aged for 21 months in new French oak. Opaque purple-colored, it delivers a perfume of chocolate, toasted almonds, wood smoke, toast, spice box, and blackberry liqueur. Opulent, layered, complex, and spicy, it has gobs of flavor, aging potential of 6-8 years, great balance, and a very long finish. This complete wine will start to hit its peak around 2014 and drink well through 2035. Score - 94+. (Jay Miller, erobertparker.com, Feb. 2008) Out of stock Tags: Red Wine, Tempranillo, Wine
