Alvento Elige 2007: Niagara meets Italy in [this] terrific, youthful blend of New World vibrancy and Old World elegance and depth. Bruno and Elyane Moos had a winery in Tuscany before setting up in Niagara. The nose is surprisingly intense, piquant and complex marrying 65% cabernet sauvignon blackcurrant, with cab franc tobacco, some merlot suppleness, and leathery, meaty Euro-inspired aromas. It's medium-full bodied, elegant and taut with some cab sauvignon greenness and edgy sourness on the finish. Excellent length. Best 2013 to 2020. Score - 91.
