13th Street June's Vineyard Riesling: Most Riesling in Ontario is made from the Germanic Weiss 21B clone, which tends to produce wines that are more mineral-driven. This wine was produced from the Alsatian clone 49, which has given more of a tropical dimension to the wine - peach compote, as passion fruit meets with grapefruit and lime. 13th Street Old Vines Riesling 2010: Quite intense aromas of lime, sweet pear, peach, white roses, apple, smoky minerality and a touch of petrol. Just off-dry with a round, generous core of fruit made all the more intriguing by layers of minerality. An inviting, flavourful wine with easygoing complexity. Enjoy with mildly spiced Asian dishes and curries, or with seafood. (VINTAGES panel, Dec. 2011)

Alkoomi Riesling 2009: 2009 Riesling has slightly mute, youthful aromas of honeysuckle, mandarin peel and lime cordial. Dry, medium bodied with crisp acidity and very good concentration, this wine gives a long citrusy finish. It's approachable now but should open further over the next 6 to 12 months and drink to 2018. August Kesseler R?desheimer Bischofsberg Riesling Sp?tlese 2005: Firm and tight even, with grapefruit peel and spice notes. Balthasar Ress Hattenheimer Sch?tzenhaus Riesling Kabinett 2011: Firm and focused, with black currant, melon and red peach flavors that are juicy and fresh-tasting.
