Alejandro Fernndez Tinto Pesquera Crianza 2009: Deep, bright violet. Blackberry, cherry-vanilla and licorice on the oak-spiced nose. Deep, sweet and pliant, but with very good juicy character and spicy lift to its dark fruit preserve and licorice flavors. Allegro Con Spirito Enebral 2009: The 2009 Enebral spent nearly a year in new French oak before bottling without filtration. Aromas of toasty oak, mineral, spice box, licorice, and blackberry compose the bouquet of this round, supple, nicely proportioned wine. Ares Crianza 2008: The 2008 Ares Crianza spent 12 months in French and American oak. Spice box, leather, violets, incense, and blackberry aromas inform the nose of a savory, elegantly-styled Crianza with excellent volume and balance.
