Did you know April 6 is known as New Beer’s Eve? It’s true - and it’s worth raising a glass. This unofficial holiday celebrates the end of Prohibition and the return of legal beer after 13 long, dry years (1920–1933).

For over a decade, all alcohol was banned in the U.S. Could you go without beer for 13 years? 🍻 We didn’t think so either.

🕰️ How New Beer’s Eve Began

On April 7, 1933, beer officially became legal again - but the celebration started the night before.

📜 On April 6, 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Cullen–Harrison Act, legalizing beer and wine with up to 3.2% alcohol.
🚪 That night, people lined up around the block at bars and pubs, ready to enjoy their first legal beer in over a decade.
🍺 According to the Brewers Association, 1.5 million barrels of beer were opened in the first 24 hours.

And just like that… New Beer’s Eve was born.
