Description

Dalva is a tawny port specialist, selling at very reasonable prices. This seems older than a 10 year old, with a very rich nose of raisins, molasses, highly roasted almonds and some burlap and hay. It is full bodied, sweet and hottish, with deep penetrating roasted nut and woodsy flavours. Still some tannin on board. Excellent length. Chill lightly. Score - 93. Rich and toasty yet vivid and fresh, with an expressive grapey bouquet leading to complex nutty, orange peel and dried fruit flavours. Characterful and rewarding. Score - 92. (decanter.com, Aug. 13, 2017)
