Description

This is serious Piemonte wine made by the area's pre-eminent Barbera specialist. Grapes are sourced from and tended to entirely by hand from the sustainably-farmed Rocchette vineyard. A long, slow ferment and maceration are followed by 18 months of oak aging in large, Allier French barrels. It offers up a complex nose of rich red plums, Bing cherries, cacao and fennel. The palate is full and ripe with pitch-perfect balance between streaky acids and soft, dusty tannins.
