Description

LFE buys fruit from very old vineyards in the Cauquenes zone, planted in the dry-farmed secano, where there's no artificial irrigation. In a year with a bit too much heat and moderate rainfall, this carignan (aged for 12 months in foudres and used barrels) has radiantly fresh fruit and juicy acidity. The needle-like tannins are little beasts lying in wait in a wine filled with red fruit, flowers, and spices. It's a very good example of how much carignan has advanced in Chile. Score - 95.
