Description

This is a very classy Beaune Premier Cru white from Les Perrières, a vineyard name that comes up time and again in Burgundy, and which references the many limestone quarries in the region. The nose is all ripe white and yellow-fleshed orchard fruit, pears, golden delicious apple and nectarine, with very well managed and integrated wood (45% new barrels), still a year or three away from prime enjoyment. There's considerable depth and structure on offer, as well as genuine density and length. A fine wine, best after 2024, or hold into the early '30s. Tasted May 2022. Score - 94.
