The 2019 Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso Tenuta Lena di Mezzo is woodsy and dark in nature, smoldering up with nuances of raspberry, autumnal spice and underbrush. This is texturally deep and velvety with a pretty acid-driven lift, as ripe red and black berries wash across the palate, complemented by sweet spices. It leaves a saturation of floral-tinged fruits and hints of cinnamon to linger while finishing long yet fresh. The Tenuta Lena di Mezzo is a blend of 80% Corvina and Corvinone with 20% Rondinella. It's a fine and beautifully balanced Ripasso. Drinking window: 2022-2027. Score - 90. (Eric Guido, vinous.com, April 2022)
