Description

This red AOC Plan de Dieu Côtes du Rhône Village is a blend of 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah. The yield was 30 hectolitres per hectare. This is Château Malijay's flagship wine that rivals the best from the southern Rhône. It is an intense garnet with a profound nose of blackberries, black cherries, plums, spices, old leather and a hint of graphite. It is big and warming in the mouth, beautifully balanced and full-bodied. The well-knit tannins support a long, exotic aftertaste. It will go wonderfully with roast beef, but better still, with all manner of wild game. Goat cheese would work as well. Do decant a couple of hours before enjoying. It will keep for another decade.
