Ironstone Merlot is a consistent crowd-pleaser, enticing with its aromas of plushy dark, spiced plum and mocha on the nose. Full-bodied with black plum compote, savoury herbs and plenty of smoky vanilla and sweet oak spice flavours on the palate. The Kautz family, owners and operators of Ironstone, began farming in Lodi in 1926 and have been making wine there for four generations. Drink: 2020-2025. Best Value Wine. Score - 91.
