Description

La Clape is an elevated limestone plateau that looks upon the Mediterranean and is one of Languedoc's most biodiverse 'cru' appellations. Bertrand's 2016 incarnation features hand-harvested syrah, carignan and mourvèdre from this breezy, garrigue-infused terroir. Produced with a light hand, this gently aromatic blend offers a fresh vein of acidity behind a fleshy palate with ripe tannins and very good length. Aged 8 months in oak to harmonize the flavours but offering very little spice from wood on the palate. Good value. Score - 89. (Sara d'Amato, winealign.com, Oct. 30, 2019)
