Blue Mountain Gold Label Brut Sparkling

Description

There is plenty of character and energy here for a traditional method sparkler at this price. The nose shows very generous dried berry cherry fruit (from the pinot noir) apple, toast and shortbread. It is firm and dry with great acid drive and minerality. The mousse is very active, the flavours are very intense. The length is excellent. Great value. Tasted August 2022. Score - 93. Tasting Notes

Encountered several times through Gold Medal Plates, where it ended up being named of Best of Show at the Winnipeg event in 2015, going on to the finals at the Canadian Culinary Championship in Kelowna, Feb 2016. It is wonderfully, vibrant, compact brut with subtle but generous aromas of berry fruit, lemon hazelnut and vague toastiness. Mid-weight, dry and nicely even on the palate with a firm mousse and excellent length. A touch flinty as well. Very good to excellent length. Score - 91. (David Lawrason, winealign.com, Feb. 2016)
