The 2008 Malbec Reserva spent 14 months in a mix of new and used French and American oak. It displays an expressive bouquet of wood smoke, spice box, lavender, underbrush, black cherry, and black raspberry. Dense, firm, and savory on the palate, it conceals enough fine-grained tannin to evolve for 1-2 years, although there is no compelling reason to delay gratification. This excellent value will be at its best from 2012 to 2018. Score - 88. (Jay Miller, erobertparker.com, Dec. 2011)
