The 2020 Saar Riesling Kabinett Feinherb Kanzemer Altenberg is very clear, bright, pure and refreshingly mineral yet still discreet on the light but remarkably complex nose that is reminiscent of perfume rather than fruit and a classic Saar representative. On the palate, this is a pretty sweet Kabinett that is less dramatic and filigreed than expected, and I expected the residual sugar level to be at least on the border of medium sweet and sweet. This is a charmingly round and fruity Saar Riesling from a spectacular, steep cru, yet the 2020 softens the edges too much for my taste. The crowd, however, will go along with this style perfectly, I assume. 10% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted from AP 128 21 in November 2021. Drink date: 2027-2050. Score - 93.
