Description

This is one of the most well known and successful GSM blends of Barossa, based on the southern French concept of blending grenache, syrah and mourvedre. And given that Barossa's climate is essentially Mediterranean it's a very good idea. This is medium-full bodied, typically soft yet dense and even with a ripe but reserved nose of mashed plums laced with gentle peppery spice, dried herbs and light wood. It's quite fine although there is a sense it is still youthfully fresh tight; which may also reflect 2011 being one of the coolest vintages in Australia's history. Very good length.
