Description

Gloria Ferrer is Freixenet's outpost in California, a very sophisticated and popular lunch spot on the edge of Carneros outside of the town of Sonoma. This has very lifted, quite rich and fetching nose of leesy/brioche, pistachio/macaroon with a sense of clover honey and ripe pear. It is light to medium bodied with taut, very lemony acidity. Quite rich and full of flavour, and the length is excellent. Tasted October 2021. Score - 91. (David Lawrason, winealign.com)

Tasting Notes

Introduced by a lively, crisp mousse, this 100% Chardonnay sparkler is made méthode Champenoise, and dry. Highlights on the nose and palate include a nuttiness of hazelnut and almond, green apple and orange, with a lilt of lemon zest. Score - 91. (Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast, March 1, 2017)
