🌵 National Tequila Day 🍹

Sip. Savor. Celebrate the Spirit of Mexico.

Every July 24th, we raise our glasses to one of the world’s most iconic and spirited liquors -Tequila. Whether you're a cocktail connoisseur or just tequila-curious, National Tequila Day is your chance to explore the rich flavors, traditions, and heritage behind this beloved Mexican drink.

🌱 From Agave to Icon

Tequila is crafted from the blue agave plant, native to Mexico. It all starts with the piña—the heart of the plant - which is harvested by hand, slow-roasted or steamed, and then crushed to release its sweet juice. That juice is fermented, distilled, and in some cases, aged to perfection.

Production is strictly regulated and must take place in specific Mexican regions - Jalisco being the most famous, especially the town of Tequila, where it all began.

🥃 Types of Tequila

Tequila comes in different styles, each offering a unique taste experience:

  • Blanco (Silver) - Unaged and vibrant, with crisp agave-forward flavor

  • Reposado -  Aged at least 2 months in oak barrels; smooth with hints of vanilla and spice

  • Añejo -  Aged 1 to 3 years; rich, complex, and perfect for sipping

  • Extra Añejo - Aged 3+ years; deep, luxurious, and incredibly refined

🍸 Not Just Margaritas

Sure, the Margarita is a superstar, but tequila’s mixology game runs deep:

  • Paloma - Tequila + grapefruit soda = citrusy perfection

  • Tequila Sunrise -  A colorful throwback with orange juice and grenadine

  • Jalapeño Margarita - Sweet, sour, and spicy in all the right ways

  • Tequila Neat or on the Rocks - Pure agave elegance, no mixers needed

🇲🇽 More Than a Drink - It’s Culture

Tequila is more than a party favorite - it’s a symbol of Mexican pride and craftsmanship. From family gatherings to national festivals, tequila brings people together. In Mexico, sipping tequila is often a ritual - slow, respectful, and best with friends.
