Description

Amber to pale gold colour; aromas and flavours of iodine, smoky wet wood, with a hint of double smoked bacon; quite full on the palate with caramel and toffee notes on the finish. (Jim Murray,Whisky Bible,2012)

Tasting Notes

'Quarter casks bring out the rich sweet, fruity flavours, making whiskies taste like they have been matured for twelve years when they have been in the cask for a far shorter time. The peat on the other hand, tastes as big and fresh as its age. The result; 6 year old peat in what seems a twelve year old fruity spirit. Perfect!' 1000 Whiskies you must taste before you die'. Distillery was established in 1815. Laphroaig still operates its own floor maltings, which provide up to 20% of its requirements.
